Your new pension: an interim update
What is important to know for now?
Calculating your pension
Despite moving to a new pension scheme as of 1 July 2026, you can still use our Pension Planner (if you are logged in with your DigiD to 'My Pension' on our site) to make pension calculations for pensions starting after 1 July 2026. For these outcomes, the rule strictly applies that they only offer an indication of the level. As of 1 July 2026, a new pension system with a modified pension scheme will apply. Your pension will therefore look differently after that date. In addition, our pension provider (AZL) will no longer make calculations for those pensions for which the effective date is after 1 July 2026. We will, however, keep the planner available for the indication.
Once the new pension scheme is final, however, this option will be available once again. Are you just in that transition period when you would like to retire? If so, request a pension meeting.
TOP and Extra Pension: please note!
In the new pension scheme, TOP and Extra Pension no longer exist. Have you saved funds with TOP? If so, we have a tip. If you wish to do so, deposit your saved capital before 1 July 2026 to work less. If you do not do so, your saved TOP capital will be converted into capital for accrued retirement pension. You certainly won't lose your money. The capital for accrued retirement pension will then simply be slightly higher.
Solidarity-based scheme
TNO and the works council have opted for the solidarity-based scheme. This means that everyone will receive a share in the collective assets of the fund. This also means that the risks during the accumulation of your pension will be shared collectively. Even if you are retired, your pension assets will be invested, which means your pension benefit moves with the market. Declines in pension benefits will be prevented as much as possible by using a solidarity reserve.
